I learned some very important skills from my mother while growing up in the inner city. My mom was one of those people who didn't waste her money. She would spend it on good healthy food, quality home products and education. She taught me the importance of spreading a dollar as well as understanding the value in taking care of your own things. Growing up, she would always say to us, "I don't care if this couch costs $5 or $5,000, you treat it like it cost $50,000." Take care of the things you invest in and invest in good quality things.
I was probably the only 5 year old who had an orthopedic mattress growing up. I've always had a hard time sleeping and my mom made sure I was comfortable. So maybe I grew up a mattress snob because I will spend my money on a quality mattress regardless of price. Now that I have two kids it's especially important for me to get good sleep. My husband got us a mattress last year when a company was having a Black Friday sale. I slept on it for one night and knew I didn't like it, but he kept the mattress anyway (insert constant arguing over my discomfort).
We recently got to try Tomorrow Sleep's holistic sleep system. The mattress is made with premium materials in the highest possible quality. One of the most amazing parts of the mattress is that you can purchase the sleeptracker monitor that links to your iPhone or Android. It allows you to track how you are sleeping and the quality of sleep you are getting. I like to just send that on over to my husband each morning so he knows how much he should get on my nerves each day lol. Seriously, the mattress is amazing. As soon as I took it out of the box and sat on it, I was impressed. I got the medium firm mattress and I have been having the best sleep of my life. The baby sleeps so soundly next to me during her naps too. We are one week in with the new mattress and so far I am loving it. I will follow up in about a month to let you know if I still love it. I've never been more excited to go to bed each night than I am now.
