Random Places In California
I have honestly never heard of Fresno except that the character Toni from Girlfriends was from there. So when we went the first time during Christmas for the Christmas tree lane house lighting I was nervous. However any place that has a chipotle and a Wholefoods is alright in my eyes.
We had to go to Fresno again for Chea's job last week for a couple days. It's about a four hour drive from Orange, California. Our car rides are always a good time for me to take a nap and listen to Amirah tell 1,3446 stories about everything she can possibly think of. I also like how children will only call their mothers name even if we are asleep and their fathers are sitting right there. Chea's favorite thing to do is get real quiet and then all of a sudden laugh because he is secretly listening to sports radio in his headphones. Needles to say I really love my family and the time we get to spend together on this adventure called life. Fresno was the first stop and it wasn't very eventful. Amirah and I stayed in the hotel and had school while Chea was out working. When he came back we stopped at the local outdoor mall and had dinner at this Thai restaurant nearby.
Veggie Fried Rice
Veggie Eggrolls
We also stopped at Pyramid Lake and Grapevine Canyon. Pyramid Lake was a really cool surprise mini museum. I thought it was just a regular restroom stop overlooking this amazing lake. When you walk into the building they have all these really cool exhibits about saving water and the history of water throughout the world. I'm so glad we decided to stop and sight see a little bit on our way back home.
For me the best moments in life have always been the unplanned ones. Life in California isn't always easy because we are away from the people we love the most. I cried the other day because I miss my mother so much. So on valentines day Chea surprised me by buying my mother a plane ticket to come and spend the whole month of March with us. The best part about the whole surprise is that Amirah gets to see her lela for her birthday. We have good and bad days just like anyone else. I believe our family works because we think in love and work towards true happiness for everyone in this family.
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their family and the time they spend together. It doesn't have to be a big trip across the country, any time and anywhere you go together can be an adventure.
