Still On The Road
Well hello everyone, yes we are still on the road.
Each day gets better and better and I've really been enjoying our time away. We took Amirah to one of my favorite vegan/gluten free restaurants in San Fran Seed + Salt. We walked around, shopped a little and visited famous landmarks.
Being on the road with just the three of us has been a beautiful surprise. It makes me realize how amazing our little family unit is. How excited I am to get married and also how much I love being a mother. It is also teaching me things I need to work on as a mother and a partner. I am not the most patient person on this planet and I've been really working on my annoyance levels. I've been realizing that a lot of things I let bother me don't even really matter at the end of the day. What matters is how much quality time I get to spend with the people I love the most.
Some pretty amazing experiences have happened as well while on the road. We made it to Denver safely and met up with our good friends Heidi and Humble and of course baby Lenon. We had an amazing brunch, ventured off to the Dragon festival and really enjoyed good company and friendship.
The best part of the day was when one of my bridesmaids aka one of my favorite people Abby Walters just so happened to be in Denver. What are the odds that my friend from Columbus, Ohio would be in Denver at the same time I would. We met up at City O City a lovely restaurant in downtown Denver. We enjoyed some drinks, laughter and of course an impromptu photo session.
Some of the greatest lessons I've learned from this road trip are. Chea can indeed lead me and I am very comfortable allowing that to happen. I've also realized that giving up control in some situations actually lends to a better experience. Love travels and home is a place you create where love rest.
